☘️Chongyuan Temple is located on the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula in Suzhou, covering an area of 200,000 square meters. It was built in the second year of the Tianjian period of Emperor Wu of Liang (503 AD) and was originally named Chongxuan Temple. The name was changed to Chongyuan Temple to avoid the taboo of Emperor Kangxi's name, Xuanye. It was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and rebuilt in 2003. 🌾The temple consists of the entrance Buddha-worshiping avenue, the Watian Buddha Kingdom Square, Guanyin Island, and the temple, showing the characteristics of the Guanyin Dojo of the Lotus Buddha Kingdom. Among them, the Great Compassion Guanyin statue in the Guanyin Pavilion is 33 meters high and made of 88 tons of bronze, making it the largest indoor Guanyin statue in China.
