I've just discovered that there are mountains in Suzhou! The Banyan Tree Resort at Suzhou's Lion Mountain

In my mind, there were no mountains in the urban area of Suzhou, which is one of the reasons I prefer Hangzhou. Surprisingly, Suzhou has built a stone mountain specifically for the Banyan Tree Resort – just kidding. The resort opened on March 18th, marking the second luxury hotel opening in half a year. Suzhou indeed has the capability. Personally, I find the design of the Banyan Tree Resort younger and more reflective of the Jiangnan region than the Four Seasons; the Four Seasons in Suzhou is a bit too conservative for my taste. The architecture of the Banyan Tree Resort at Lion Mountain in Suzhou was designed by GOA, while the famous HBA was responsible for the garden and interior design. Inspired by the courtyards of Jiangnan, they transformed the garden into a secluded place for rest and rejuvenation, with white walls and black tiles showcasing the charm of the Jiangnan style. The hotel has a total of 60 guest rooms/villas, with room sizes of 60 and 90 square meters. The 60 square meter rooms are named Leisure Courtyard, Lion Mountain Courtyard, and Nurturing Pavilion, which reflect the purpose of the rooms. The 90 square meter villas, or suites, are named Cui Yue, Tian Shi, and Lion Mountain.
