Suzhou's Chongyuan Temple was founded in 503 AD by Emperor Wu of Liang, who wanted to govern the country with Buddhism. It is a temple with over 1,500 years of history. In summer, you can see lotus flowers blooming all over the place. The balance of the lotus flowers blooming on Yangcheng Lake, the Guanyin Pavilion on the water, and the clear blue sky is overwhelming, and I was moved that this might be the place of paradise✨ The period when Chongyuan Temple flourished most was from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the middle of the Tang Dynasty. During the Tang Dynasty, famous poets such as Wei Yingwu, Li Jiayou, Pi Rixiu, and Lu Guimeng left poems depicting Chongyuan Temple. Since then, Chongyuan Temple has been destroyed many times by anti-Buddhist movements, fires, and the Cultural Revolution. It was rebuilt in its current location in 2007.
