Two-Day Trip to Zhangye

Winter in Zhangye is the off-season, making it the perfect time to travel. Put on your down jacket and snow boots and set off! Southerners are always happy to see snow! Walking on snow, enjoying snowy landscapes, and discovering unique landforms I've never seen before—Zhangye really brought me so many surprises. Day 1: Purely travel 🤸🏻‍♂️Transportation: Guangzhou✈️Lanzhou — Zhongchuan Airport North🚄Lanzhou West — Lanzhou West🚄to Zhangye West Station Arrived close to sunset, you can take a taxi to the Wetland Park to watch the sunset. For the high-speed train, you can choose seats A/F to enjoy the scenery. Day 2: Mati Temple — Zhangye Danxia Landform⭐⭐⭐⭐ Joined a one-day tour Mati Temple: It just snowed! Tour route: Thirty-Three Heaven Caves (North Temple Caves) — climbing the caves was a great experience → Gesar King Hall (couldn't go due to heavy snow) → Thousand Buddha Cave (not much to see) Zhangye Danxia Landform: Not enough time in the afternoon, so only visited viewing platforms 2, 1, and 4. Platform 4 is the most beautiful. Returned to the hotel at night and ordered takeout; too tired and cold to go out. Day 3: Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon Half-Day Tour⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think this is the most fun attraction. The initial climb wasn’t too hard, not tiring, and climbing the “One Line Sky” was very interesting! Route: Viewing platform — down to the canyon bottom — One Line Sky — Lingzhi Valley — exit the park Highly recommended. Returned in the afternoon (packed Paotuan noodles and yogurt to eat on the high-speed train). Zhangye really gave me a huge surprise; I didn’t expect to see so many unique landforms in one place!
