Visit the ancient site of Wat Chang Lom Sukhothai

🏡 Wat Chang Lom Sukhothai Historical Park is a temple outside the city walls on the east side. Tambon Mueang Kao, Amphoe Mueang Sukhothai, Sukhothai Province. It is a Thai architecture influenced by Sri Lanka. The highlight is the Sri Lankan-style pagoda or inverted bell-shaped pagoda. At the base, there are 32 elephants surrounding it. 🏛 Wat Chang Lom has a history that it was built around the 20th century. The nanny Sai Dam, the husband of the nanny Ted, was a nobleman who was loyal to Phra Maha Thammaracha Lithai. He had faith and became a monk following Phra Maha Thammaracha Lithai. He dedicated his land to build a temple in 1927. He built a Buddha image, a Tripitaka Hall, planted a Bodhi tree to dedicate merit to Phra Maha Thammaracha Lithai who had passed away. He also built a stone Buddha image to dedicate merit to Phra Maha Thammaracha Lithai's wife who had passed away. 😉 It is another quiet temple.
