2024 England Trip (Thirteen): Stratford Town.

Stratford is located in Warwickshire, England, on the banks of the River Avon. Stratford is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and there are many Shakespeare-related relics and museums in the town. The town was built in 1858. Shakespeare left the town for London at the age of 19. He first worked as a handyman in a theater and later became an actor and playwright, leaving behind 37 plays and two narrative poems. Shakespeare's Birthplace (Figure 1) is a typical Tudor-style two-story wooden building built in 1531. It was purchased by the Shakespeare Birthday Committee in the 19th century and rebuilt and renovated into a 16th-century half-timbered house. Built in the 13th century, Holy Trinity Church is the oldest building in Stratford. This is where Shakespeare was baptized and buried. The church still maintains records of both events. Shakespeare's tomb is in the center of the altar at the front of the church. Shakespeare was buried in the altar built in the 15th century. There are a total of five people placed on the altar, including Shakespeare. The tomb of Shakespeare's wife Anne Hathaway is at the northernmost end of the altar, right next to Shakespeare, followed by Shakespeare, followed by Thomas Nash (Shakespeare's granddaughter's first husband), John Hall (Shakespeare's eldest son-in-law), and Susannah (Shakespeare's eldest daughter). Walking along the quiet Avon River into Henry Street in the center of Stratford, you will experience a changing scenery with every step. The houses on the old streets of the ancient town have red roofs with decorative tiles and cast iron structures of various designs and styles. From the eaves to the windows, from the door knockers to the pillars, each one is ingeniously different. It seems that the owners of each house are vying to be the most eye-catching with their unique style. What’s even more interesting is that almost every windowsill is filled with colorful flowers and trees, some are exquisite and elegant bonsai, some are a few inconspicuous wild flowers, but all of them are blooming brightly. The old street of the ancient town seems like an antique with overflowing patina. Shakespeare's birthplace
