[Georgia] Stepantsminda, a mountain village surrounded by the Caucasus mountains

#TravelTips Stepantsminda, a mountain village in northern Georgia Surrounded by the 4,000-5,000m Caucasus mountains, this small village at the foot of the mountains serves as the gateway to the village's symbol, the Gergeti Trinity Church, considered Georgia's most beautiful church. With a border checkpoint with Russia located about 12km north of the village, it truly is a village on the front line between Georgia and Russia. This village serves as a base for trekking in the Caucasus mountains, so it is surprisingly lively and has become a tourist destination. There are also quite a few accommodations and shops. From the capital, Tbilisi, we headed north on the Georgian Military Highway.
