Norway: Eidfjord Town + Hardangerfjord (28)

Early on the 28th, we left Oslo and headed for the fjord 400 kilometers away. Along the way, we passed through snowfields (pictures 1, 2), which were very spectacular. On the vast snowfields, there were still people living and working. At 7️⃣ Eidfjord Town, we boarded the small cruise ship shown in picture 3 to tour the Hardangerfjord. The town of Eidfjord (pictures 4-7) is very charming, located at the end of the Hardangerfjord. A thousand years ago, this was the main base for pirates who lived by looting and plundering. By the way, there are 11 types of landforms on Earth, and the fjord is the only type that is not found in China. 8️⃣ Hardangerfjord is the second largest fjord in Norway, with a total length of 179 kilometers and a maximum depth of 800 meters. There are waterfalls cascading down the sides (picture 10), as well as beautiful countryside and villages (pictures 11-13). Picture 9 shows the Hardangerfjord Bridge, a suspension bridge with a total length of 1380 meters, completed in 2013. Its steel structure was manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries, and the difficulty was to solve the exceptional wind resistance problem in the fjord. In the evening, we stayed at the Stalheim Hotel, a very characteristic hotel. The owner has collected a lot of old-fashioned furniture, fireplaces, utensils, etc. (pictures 14-17). Outside the hotel, there is an observation deck (picture 19) where you can overlook the fjord (picture 20). At the hotel's gift shop, I bought a refrigerator magnet in the shape of the map of Norway.
