From the historic districts of the capital Sofia, to the spectacular ancient Roman theater in Plovdiv, to the magnificent nature of the Seven Lakes Mountains, each stop makes people feel the charm of the rich interweaving of culture and nature. Here, I saw the golden dome of the Orthodox Church, Ottoman-style buildings and traces of the Soviet era; I also tasted authentic banitsa puff pastry and shopska salad. The affordable prices and leisurely pace are the "hidden treasures" of my European journey.
