Beautiful castle 🗺️

#myhiddengems I recently had the chance to visit Smolenice Castle during my summer vacation, and it was a truly enchanting experience! Nestled in the small village of Smolenice in Slovakia (not Poland, despite the common mix-up), this fairytale-like castle is surrounded by lush forests and offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The entrance fee was quite reasonable—around €5 for a guided tour of the castle. The tour itself was informative and took us through the castle's grand halls, historical rooms, and even up to the tower, where the views of the surrounding countryside were breathtaking. The architecture is a mix of medieval and romantic styles, giving the place a timeless charm. After exploring the castle, I wandered around the beautiful park that surrounds it. The greenery and well-maintained gardens made it the perfect spot for a leisurely walk. For those who love hiking, there are several trails nearby that lead into the Little Carpathians, offering stunning views and a chance to connect with nature. Just a short drive away, you can visit the quaint town of Trnava, known for its rich history and beautiful churches. Alternatively, the Driny Cave, a fascinating limestone cave, is also nearby and makes for a great addition to your day trip. Smolenice Castle is a hidden gem that combines history, nature, and a touch of magic.
