In Malta, there's a charming coastal town—Sliema—a pearl on the Mediterranean, exuding a unique allure. Early in the morning, filled with anticipation, we set out to capture Sliema's sunrise. Luckily, the sun was particularly cooperative. In that brief period, we captured the most beautiful images of the dawn. Golden sunlight danced on the sea's surface, shimmering and complementing the brilliant morning glow in the sky, creating a breathtaking scene. At that moment, it felt as if the whole world was enveloped in this gentle light, leaving us mesmerized. After capturing the sunrise, we had some time left and chose the Big Cat statue, just a 10-minute walk from our hotel, as our next stop. On our way there, we passed through a local residential area. The traditional-style buildings lining the narrow streets were remarkably well-preserved, each one seemingly whispering tales of the city's history and stories. Strolling through them felt like stepping back in time, immersing us in the vibrant local life. As we reached the Big Cat statue, our eyes lit up. Not far from the sculpture, St. Julian's, which had been obscured by the night, now stood clearly before us. St. Julian's unique architectural style, harmonizing with the surrounding beauty, made it impossible not to pause and admire. The scenery along the coastline back to the hotel was captivating. The beautiful seascape was refreshing, and the constant stream of joggers, leisurely walkers, and dog walkers added a touch of liveliness to the coastline. The scene reminded us of the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, equally vibrant and equally unforgettable. While not cheap, staying in a hotel in Sliema is an excellent choice. The hotels here are not only conveniently located and safe but also cater to diverse culinary preferences. You can savor authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine, enjoy a taste of home, or try traditional Maltese dishes to experience the local culinary culture. There are also international options like Turkish kebabs and pizza, all at reasonable prices. Our time in Sliema made us fall deeply in love with this city. It boasts both beautiful natural scenery and a rich cultural atmosphere, convenient amenities, and a diverse culinary scene.
