Delectable Northeastern Chinese Cuisine in the West

Located at Vision Exchange near the Jurong East station, A Kitchen 友间厨房 serves the best Northeastern Chinese cuisine. It's always crowded, especially during weekends. We made the right decision to dine early and avoided the queue. At 6pm, the queue was already snaking long... We ordered a lot of dishes and those in my photos are some of the best. I love their fried pumpkins! Wrapped in a layer of golden crispy crust, the pumpkin is delectable and very flavourful. The pork floss sprinkled on top further enhances the sweetness of the dish. Another must-try dish is their stir-fry fried fish bites in garlic and chilli. It's the first time we ordered it (we have frequented this eatery quite a few times) and fortunately, it didn't disappoint! The fish bites are delicious - crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The roasted garlic and chilli bits give the dish an extra flavour boost! 4/5 for this dish - 1 point deducted for the fish bones. This place is also good for skewers and drinks. Their skewers menu is quite decent with a variety of choices from chicken to lamb to vegetables. Pair them with a bottle of SGD$5 Xue Hua beer (500ml) and your evening is complete!
