#springitinerary During my Day 2 citywalk in Telok Ayer, I discovered the majestic Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Hokkien temples and a designated National Monument. Built in 1842, it was a place of prayer for early Chinese immigrants giving thanks for safe sea voyages. The temple’s architecture is truly captivating—featuring traditional Southern Chinese design, intricate dragon and phoenix carvings, colorful tiles, and detailed woodwork, all constructed without nails. Stepping into its peaceful courtyard felt like a journey into Singapore’s cultural roots. Rich in history and artistry, Thian Hock Keng is a must-visit landmark for heritage lovers and curious explorers alike.
