When it comes to the most popular dessert shops in Singapore recently, Queic by Olivia definitely holds a spot. The menu doesn't need to be extensive; specializing in just a few items is enough. The shop only sells three types of cheesecakes, and among them, the signature cheesecake is so highly praised that my friends say if you haven't tried it, you haven't really been to Singapore. Since it's so highly recommended, why not find a day to have breakfast and then slowly walk over to enjoy a piece of this midday dessert? The shop's yellowish-brown tones seem to be designed to reflect the style of cheese. That's what my friend said, but I didn't look into it. Without thinking too much, I ordered a piece of the signature cheesecake. You could actually call it a cheese pie. The crust is well-made, not too hard, and the top of the cheesecake has a slightly burnt look, making it visually appealing. The half-melted texture is the highlight, and the combination of cream cheese and blue cheese creates a rich but not overpowering flavor, very harmonious. This signature dessert is indeed delicious but also quite expensive, costing over 100 HKD including service charge and tax. The Iced Latte is just average, as the main attraction here is the cake, not the coffee. Perhaps a brewed coffee would pair better with such an outstanding cake. As more people started to arrive, I decided not to linger and went for a stroll to Clarke Quay, a place where I used to work, to reminisce about the good old days.
