Are you a big fan of Crazy Rich Asian the movies? You might like this area in Singapore. Just take a bus from city center for about 40 minutes drive, then you won’t regret to get lost in Katong. It’s formerly knowns as a coconut plantation and used as a weekend getaway for some wealthy city dwellers. The plantations were long gone, but you can still admire the vibrant surroundings with its many Peranakan houses. There are also some famous restaurants and shops around. Grab your google maps to find where Joo Chiat Peranakan Houses located is from the bus stop. It is so easy to find.
