Tombraiding at the Angkor Wat 🛕

We chose the 7 day pass to the Angkor Wat, even though everyone suggested the 3 day pass would be sufficient. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. The Angkor Wat is the largest religious complex in the world and has over 1000 thousand buildings on a site of 162.6 hectares. So 7 days, to us, seemed necessary if we wanted to really explore and take it all in. Below are some suggestions. Do: ✅️ ✅️ Book on their official site before you arrive at the gate. You can take a screenshot of your ticket with picture and QR code. This will make it easier to show the guards at the complex entrances. ✅️Rent a bicycle and cycle from complex to complex. You can find bicycles to hire on the left-hand side of the road, just after you enter the main entrance. Google "Angkor Wat bicycle rental" to find the exact location on Google Maps. ✅️Take lots of water and snacks, and don't forget the sunscreen, hats, and bug spray. Dress in loose cool clothes, with comfortable shoes, and be prepared to scale some steep temple steps. Don't:❌️ ❌️ Travel in April, May, or June. It's just too hot. We were there for a month mid-May - mid-June, and the heat was unbearable at times. ❌️ Eat food that isn't thoroughly cooked. I had a medium-rare steak and learned this lesson very quickly. ❌️ Play with the monkeys, or walk close to them with anything that looks like food. They will take it from you.
