Believed to be the first entirely constructed from sandstone by the Khmer Empire, the temple stands as a testament to the empire's engineering prowess. The majestic structure is a Sandstone Temple-mountain, featuring five towers atop a step pyramid base, symbolizing Mount Meru, the cosmic mountain in Hindu mythology. As I ascended the steep steps, each level revealed intricate carvings and detailed reliefs, showcasing the rich cultural and religious significance embedded in every stone. The sense of awe and reverence permeated the air, and from the temple's pinnacle, the panoramic view of the surrounding jungle added an extra layer of enchantment to this historical pilgrimage.
