An outdoor museum featuring a collection of Gassho-style houses

A short walk from Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal, across the bridge over the river, you will find the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Minkaen. Admission is 600 yen. There are several Gassho-zukuri houses gathered here, and most of them can be entered. Inside, you can enjoy a variety of things, such as preserved old-time appearances and museum-like features. You will need to take your shoes off when entering the houses, but since you will be taking them off frequently, I recommend wearing shoes that are easy to take off. There is a lot to see, and I felt it was good value for money.
