Take a leisurely stroll in Narai-juku, an ancient village.

Narai-juku (Narai-juku) is an ancient village located in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. For tourists who are going to Kamikochi, Tateyama Snow Wall or Hakuba, they often use Matsumoto as a base before traveling to other places. On this trip, I stayed in Matsumoto and had free time in the afternoon. I checked the weather. There was no rain. I had enough time to visit Narai-Juku Village because the train ride was not long. First, I left my luggage at my accommodation and started my journey to Matsumoto Station, which is 5 minutes away. How to get to Narai-juku: Take the JR Chuo line for 30 minutes and you will arrive at Narai-juku. The atmosphere is quiet. You will see Edo-era houses that used to be a resting point for people traveling along the Nakasendo route. If you have time, try taking a leisurely walk here.
