[Shizuoka] A seasonal feature of the rainy season: Shimoda Hydrangea Festival

The Shimoda Hydrangea Festival is held every June at Shimoda Park, the southernmost part of the Izu Peninsula. ✨ Approximately 150,000 hydrangeas and 3 million flowers bloom in full bloom. ♫ Until now, I had only seen hydrangeas at a nearby shrine, so it was my first time seeing so many blooming, and it was overwhelming. 😆 Not only were there many different colors, but the shapes of the flowers were also varied, and I was surprised at the wide variety...! Shimoda Park is larger than I imagined, and from the top of the hill there is a spectacular view of the contrast between the sea and the hydrangeas!
