Shimabara Castle 🇯🇵

Shimabara Castle, standing in the city center, is a landmark building of the Shimabara Peninsula. It was built on a high platform by the castle lord in 1618 and took seven years to complete. Its biggest feature is the castle tower with white walls in the center, which is built in the Azuchi-Momoyama style and is quite spectacular. After 250 years, Shimabara Castle collapsed in the Meiji era and was restored in 1960.
