A day at karst caves and stone forest

I went on a one day tour to Jiuxiang karst caves and Shilin (the stone forest) near Kunming. Although the tour was in Chinese and I didn't understand the explanations directly, the advantage of being part of a group were not worrying about how to get there and back to Kunming, and a lower trip cost in total. The main disadvantage other than the language was not being able to manage the time I spent in each place. The karst caves were very nice, especially the pillars that look like melting candles, and the underground river. The stone forest park is very big, and the time we had was limited. I recommend going first to the peak view pavilion, to appreciate the massive stone pillars from above, then explore the rest of the park. #kunming,#shilin,#karst,#jiuxiang
