The Xinjiang Corps Military Reclamation Museum in the city is well worth checking in‼ ️ The museum is located on the first floor of the Xinjiang Cultural Relics Building. It was opened to the public in 1995. It is the only national second-level museum in the country that displays the history of the Xinjiang Corps' reclamation and border garrison. It is a good place to learn about the history of the Production and Construction Corps. The museum collects 5,000 cultural relics of various types and 4,000 military reclamation cultural relics, of which 29 military reclamation cultural relics are listed as national first-level precious revolutionary cultural relics, 3 are listed as national first-level historical cultural relics, and 2 are listed as second-level ancient cultural relics. 24 pieces are listed as third-level ancient cultural relics. A few decades ago, Shihezi was a wasteland. Since 1950, 14 divisions have been stationed in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps to open up wasteland for production; in 1976, Shihezi City was established.
