2024 Shibuya Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in October)
Shibuya ~ The Most Iconic Place in Tokyo?! 🇯🇵
Shibuya might be one of the most iconic places to visit in Tokyo. Save this guide for your next visit to Japan! 🇯🇵
📍 Shibuya Scramble Square, also known as Shibuya Crossing. The iconic massive street crossing, is so crazy to see in real life. It’s right outside Shibuya Station so you can’t miss it! Remember to check it out at night to see all the lights too!
📍 Shibuya Hikarie Sky Lobby ~ there are many options to see Shibuya crossing from above, but some require tickets, reservations or queueing. Avoid all of this by going to the 11th floor Sky Lobby! It’s a bit further away from Magnet or the Starbucks, but it gives an amazing view.
📍 Nintendo Flagship Store at Parco. In fact, there are so many cool stores at Parco. Nintendo just happens to be extra special and has so much incredible merchandise!
📍 Hachiko Statue ~ honouring the most loyal dog in Japan, who waited for his owner to come back for nine years. It can get pretty crowded here and people will line up for a photo.
📍 Miyashita Park was previously a public park but has been transformed into a three storey mall with vibey shops, restaurants and cafes. On the rooftop you can find a starbucks and skate park. It’s a nice place to hang out!

Exploring Tokyo's Vibrant Shibuya District
Tokyo's premier entertainment district . I visited Shibuya, Tokyo's top entertainment district, and there was a wide variety of sights to see, food to eat, and things to enjoy in Shibuya!! Let me introduce you to a few places worth visiting in Shibuya 😆
🎈 Scramble Crossing
A famous spot often featured in animations like 'Jujutsu Kaisen' and 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time'! It's a place where you can see the unique sight of hundreds of people crossing the pedestrian crossing at once.
🎈 Shibuya Yokocho
Located under Shibuya Miyashita Park, this alley has the feel of a Japanese pub street where you can experience the atmosphere of Japan's izakaya streets. The Google reviews here are not great, so I recommend just taking pictures :)
🎈 Miyashita Park
A complex shopping mall park located right next to Shibuya Station. There's a very large park on the rooftop, and there's even a statue of Doraemon's 'Anywhere Door'! It's a great spot in Shibuya for a walk.
🎈 Pokémon Center
An animation shop that you absolutely can't miss in Shibuya. The Pokémon Center has an interior like a laboratory from the anime, making it an even more realistic Pokémon shop.
🎈 Jump Shop
A large animation shop selling goods from various animations. You can find souvenirs from classic animations like 'One Piece', 'Haikyuu', and 'Dragon Ball', as well as currently airing animations.
Cyodo Cafe Kamagaya
A restaurant where you can enjoy natural wine in Kamagaya🥂
I've always been interested in this shop
So stoked to finally be able to go!
a cafe crème, which were very delicious.
It was busy because the place was full, but the atmosphere was cozy and I felt comfortable even by myself.
I also like the interior and atmosphere of the store.
Quietly nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood
A slightly dark interior is a stylish and very relaxing space 🤎
There are various types of plates and glasses, and you can feel the attention
Croque madame with half boiled eggs on two loaves of bread
Volume up and unforgettable once eaten 🍽️🍳
Coffee also tasted less bitter and relieving ☕️
Looks like they are open for dinner evenings and the menu for the evening.

LUG HATAGAYA Cafe Asagaya
Dinner with my friend from Fukuoka🍽️🥂
LUG HATAGAYA for the first time in six months!
From morning to bar time range
This shop is always a hit whenever I go to enjoy it 🚲
Lovely atmosphere all the food in the restaurant is excellent
Especially the main meat is thick and suitable.
It's too good to get liquor going anyway 🍷✨
Had a great night catching up with a friend I haven't seen in a long time 々
Been wanting to try breakfast here too
Definitely want to go this year because I miss the opportunity to go
The food was delicious, and the coffee was perfect. We ordered a double-shot latte. The atmosphere was also great. It was a bit crowded when we arrived, so we sat at the bar. It was really cool to see how our plates were prepared in front of us. The kitchen was so small, but they made so much out of it.

Verve Coffee Roasters Yoyogi Park
Stylish new cafe close to the park, with lots of seating and delicious coffee & bakes 🥐 my favourite thing is that dogs are allowed inside 😍
Coffee comes in a style where you can choose from beans.
I was also able to sample it on this day. There are also cafe lattes. There is also a little food.
The store is spacious
There was like two patio seats outside あり

Smoko Guys Cafe
Smoko Guys is an Australian English expression, meaning that it is good to take a break in this space to take a break and rest for a while.
Maybe that's why, in the store, there are workwear vests, lockers, wall hooks on the wall at the entrance of the store, hangers, work tools, etc.
It is equipped with interesting elements by making the motif of a real workshop without missing a single detail.
There is also a bar space where you can enjoy alcohol in the cafe space, so you can take a break while taking a break.
Where I have to go to take a break, why do I turn on my laptop?
I guess I have to come back from work or visit again to take a break or get away.
Address: 1st floor, 29, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

Little Nap Coffee Roasters
Even if I haven't been, this place looks familiar to everyone for some reason
Shibuya Cafe Little Shop Coffee Roasters.
I still remember the latte that I drank at the coffee stand, Little Hill is a latte restaurant, but since I am not an old man who wants hot coffee on a hot day, I gave him a cool cup of ice. For some reason, if you go to a cafe in Japan, you lose pounds, so here too, without exception 게 (All are similar, but it's a bit. But it's delicious again)
and 🌭 I was boiling like a ketchup base water to make it a hotdog like this, but after touching the bottom, it suddenly became dotty. Little Tom left me an episode where the ice cream I ordered just because I was stuck in the package became the best menu.
The caramel sauce is on point! It's probably not a self-cooked burn.. Anyway, it's really delicious.

Karasu Coffee Stand
I went to karasu coffee stand, which is a 7-minute walk from Shibuya station.
The model's natsumi kazama is the store manager here, and I've been watching Instagram for a long time, so I thought I'd like to go someday, so I finally got it.
However, it was a pity that the work hours did not match.
There is no space to drink in the crow, and there is a small park and a very cute bakery with a green appearance called green Thumbed. near here, so you can buy bread there and drink coffee leisurely in the park.
Next to the crow, there was a liquor store "Hana", and there were various Japanese gin and fashionable packages of sake. There is no doubt that it uses beans roasted by coffee.
Also, when I go to Shibuya, I want to go.
* Address 30-15 Sakuragaoka-cho, Shibuya-ku Beverly Hills 102 Hana / Karasu, Tokyo, Japan

Picnicker Cafe
Even when I was living in Shibuya, I often went to see the cool sea. He used to think he wanted to go somewhere.
The sea of Shibuya, where I left the nearby beach every time and went to see it.
If you run up along the beach past Ilgwang Beach, There is a cafe where you can enjoy various lunch boxes and fruit desserts.
A good place to spend a leisurely time while enjoying the sea view.
.
(Since there is Shibuya Park right next door, it seems like it would be perfect to order a lunch box and enjoy a picnic in the cold season~ I still like the sea of Gijang after a long time :D)
Good food, good coffee, good view. We grab a quick bite and caffeine here before our canal tour. Staff are so polite and attentive. I like white coffee and their coffee could be strong even light roasted. I requested a creamer for free. Cool modern interior and open ambiance.

Cafe needs a room with the retro vibe of Shibuya
Made my own baked goodies for dessert

Good to try a new menu.
It's very beautiful cafe. They have a rooftop space also. And the cafe is pocket friendly. You can go on a romantic date or playful friends or cousins gathering. Food is really good. I will recommend to try milkshakes, that's really good. Atmosphere is really great.

Gomisa Coffee
A place that I wanted to visit as much as I wanted to! I arrived in front of the store, but it was quite nervous that there might still be a lot of people who visited during the opening day. It was a really good space to digest the first schedule of Shibuya✨ The lyrical window view and the bent flowers were so beautiful and Shibuya ✨ The blue gate is the perfect point💙
on the bread that started in Nagoya, rubber coffee and slightly sweet coffee that I chose the bean coffee! The deliciousness of the nuts is slightly felt and it's not too sweet and it's good for a coffee to start the morning.. Loved the combination with toast! Especially drinking coffee, but it's still delicious. 🤍
A place that would be so so nice to read a book on a beach, or just spend some time alone. A small size, but a lovely space filled with infancy..

Harlow ICE CREAM Cafe
How long has it been since I've been here?
At Harlow ICE CREAM in Hiroo for the first time in a while🍨
This day it was really too hot I was asking for ice cream 🥵 (everyday)
A little different from the past but full of decor in the store
Space and ice cream sure are cute🌻👟
Very rich and rich ice cream
The cookie dough corn was fragrant and I really liked it.
Drinks include coffee and oat milk lattes.
Try strawberry & raspberry and Madagascar vanilla
Both were very delicious.
The berries are mixed with something like sorbet and have a nice texture.
Madagascar vanilla is the most delicious classic flavor.
It's a long walk from the station but after walking hard
Ice cream eaten in a restaurant with air conditioning.

Mum Coffee Shibuya
Wonderful coffee with fantastic service. Really enjoyed sitting and drinking my coffee and having a chat with one of the owners. If you’re in Shibuya City - stop by and have a coffee here.
The store location is about a 10 minute walk from the station. It's in a quiet location where many houses are gathered
Atmosphere so calm that you can't even imagine
It was so easy to spend 🍃
Pumpkin Pound Cake and chocolate cookies too
It's very delicious
Because cafe latte is also less spicy
Made it easy to drink 🎃🍪☕️
The service is friendly and communicative when asking about the menu. The menu is quite simple.
The place is clean and comfortable. The service is fast, the staff are friendly. The food tastes delicious, the drinks are also refreshing.
Because the bright and friendly staff's customer service is also wonderful.

What’s going on in Shibuya
Shibuya is a major hub in Tokyo City! Watching the Shibuya scramble from above is always interesting. After you’ve safely crossed the road, make sure you say hello to the good boy Hachiko.
The 'Starry Sky Restaurant' that opened in Shibuya in July is wonderful..
TRATTORIA PIZZERIA 207 Shibuya Branch
A new building, Shibuya Axu, opened in July 2024
An Italian restaurant with the concept of a 'Starry Sky Restaurant' where you can enjoy a resort feeling while being in the city.
You can enjoy the taste of a popular Italian house in Hayama in Tokyo as well🕯️
Exquisite dishes that make use of local ingredients such as seafood from Hayama and Hayama Ishii beef.
・Carpaccio around Hayama
・Bismarck
Tomato, prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, soft-boiled egg
The pizza dough is neither too thin nor too thick, just perfect..
・Uninhabited island oysters and aonori cream pasta
Sterile oysters that can be eaten raw and pasta with aonori and sea breeze flavor are super delicious🦪 Highly recommended
・Hayama Tiramisu
Mascarpone and espresso, so light it melts in your mouth.
The atmosphere changes drastically between night and day, I want to go during the day next time🤤
Open 11:00-23:00

First time in Shibuya
Shibuya is one of Tokyo’s most vibrant and bustling districts, renowned for its fashion, nightlife, and the iconic Shibuya Crossing. Located in the southwestern part of central Tokyo, Shibuya serves as a major commercial and business hub. Its history dates back to the Edo period when it was a small castle town, but it has since transformed into a symbol of Tokyo’s modernity and dynamic culture. The district is home to numerous shopping malls, including the famous Shibuya 109, which is a mecca for youth fashion. The streets of Shibuya are always filled with people, from local trendsetters to international tourists, all drawn by the area’s energetic atmosphere and endless entertainment options.
One of the most notable landmarks in Shibuya is the Hachiko Statue, which honors the loyal dog Hachiko who waited for his owner every day at Shibuya Station even after his owner’s death. This statue has become a popular meeting point and a poignant symbol of loyalty and devotion. Shibuya Crossing, often dubbed the world’s busiest pedestrian intersection, sees thousands of people cross from all directions simultaneously when the traffic lights turn red. This spectacle has become an emblem of Tokyo’s fast-paced urban life and is a must-see for visitors.
Shibuya also boasts a thriving nightlife, with countless bars, clubs, and live music venues catering to all tastes. The district’s backstreets, particularly in areas like Nonbei Yokocho and Center Gai, offer a more intimate and authentic experience with small izakayas (Japanese pubs) and unique shops. Additionally, Shibuya is a hub for creativity and innovation, with numerous tech startups and creative industries based in the area. The redevelopment projects, including the construction of Shibuya Scramble Square and the renovation of Shibuya Station, are further enhancing the district’s appeal. Overall, Shibuya exemplifies the dynamic spirit of Tokyo, blending tradition and modernity in a uniquely compelling way.

Serenity in the City: Meiji Shrine Enchants!

Tucked away in Shibuya, Tokyo, Meiji Shrine is a tranquil oasis that offers a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shōken, this Shinto shrine is a stunning example of Japanese architecture and design. The peaceful forest setting, with its towering trees and winding paths, created a sense of calm and connection to nature.
