It's a shame I can't eat this in Beijing.

My first meal in Shenzhen: Dim Sum at Tao Tao Ju! This time-honored Guangzhou restaurant, also a unit for the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, is located on the third floor of Coastal City. Its huge sign is visible from a distance—it seems to be the most eye-catching in the entire building. The dining hall is incredibly spacious. It was just 9 a.m., but many tables were already enjoying morning tea. I ordered signature dishes like the golden salted egg yolk cheung fun—absolutely amazing! The crispy salted egg yolk combined with the cheung fun and shrimp creates an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Then there were the lemon-flavored beef balls, not only fragrant but also delightfully chewy. The signature shrimp dumplings contained at least three or four fresh shrimp each. Even the simplest dry-fried beef ho fun had tender meat and springy noodles. Oh, it was pure bliss! A friendly reminder though, it's not cheap here. A casual meal will easily cost around 100 RMB per person. But then again, how can one resist such delicious food?!

Nantou Ancient City

Exploring Shenzhen? Don’t miss Nantou Ancient City — this hidden gem is all about gorgeous heritage vibes and a slow stroll through centuries of history 🏮🕰️ Top Spots to Visit in Nantou Ancient City: - Nantou Ancient City (8 meters north of Nantou Bridge, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, right off Shennan Road) — open all day, year-round! - Walk the lanes and check out the classic architecture: you’ll spot ancient facades, quaint alleys, and traditional southern Chinese style everywhere. It’s like stepping into an old movie scene 📸 - Don’t rush — take your time soaking up the atmosphere. The buildings are especially picturesque in the morning light. Personal tips: The old-world architecture of Nantou has that "古色古香" charm — perfect for Instagram shots or just wandering with a cup of local milk tea. Getting Around: Hop on the Shenzhen Metro (try Line 1 to Nantou/Gaoxiong station) and take a short walk. Local buses also stop nearby! Food: Snack your way through street stalls — grab some oyster omelettes or hand-rolled cheung fun (rice noodle rolls). The area’s local bakeries also do stellar red bean pastries. Extra Tips: No tickets needed! Nantou Ancient City is free to enter, and you can wander at your own pace — a major win for budget travelers. Shenzhen’s weather can get hot and humid, so bring water and a portable fan. #ShenzhenHistory #NantouAncientCity #ChinaTravel #UrbanExploration

My Amazing Experience in Shenzhen, China 🇨🇳 This isn’t my first time in Shenzhen, but I don’t know why — my heart always feels drawn to come back. Maybe it’s the endless choices of cool electronic gadgets, or maybe it’s the mouthwatering Chinese food that never fails to impress me. For the very first time in my life, I got to experience riding a bullet train — and guess what? I went from Shenzhen to Hong Kong for such an affordable price! It was fast, comfortable, and so worth it. Shopping in Shenzhen was a whole different level — I literally shopped till I dropped! The city is full of energy, bright lights, and everything a traveler could ever want. I know for sure that I’ll come back to Shenzhen again one day. There are still so many parts of China I’ve marked on my travel list. Maybe next time I’ll take a long vacation just to hop from one province to another. Wish me luck, guys — China, I’ll see you again soon! ❤️✨#china #shenzhen #chinatourism #travel #couplestrip #staycation #mytraveldiary
