Shenzhen's first CONRAD Dreamer's Inspiration Mansion | Shenzhen Conrad Hotel

I passed by here before and felt that the facade of this building looked like a hotel. When I checked the map, it showed that I regretfully thought it was just an office building. The hotel is located at the forefront of China, adjacent to the large commercial complex Wanxiang Qianhai, and it's only a ten-minute walk from the Shenzhen Metro Line 5 'Guiwan Station'. Although it's not an endless sea view, the riverside expressway and the busy port in the distance are also very spectacular. The hotel was designed by GP Architecture Firm, with its facade's three-dimensional geometric glass walls resembling a cast fishing net, echoing the history of Shenzhen, this city of vitality, once a fishing village. The hotel owner 'Hongrongyuan' is considered one of the most successful private commercial entities in Shenzhen, aside from the 'Wanxiang series' of commercial bodies. The hotel entrance features a Taihu stone sculpture 'Two Yi', derived from the I Ching, with a circular water well and golden dome, blending Eastern aesthetics and Chinese charm wonderfully. Metal lines outline the 'Tree of Life', creating an impression of a mirage-like fishing village. The hotel's slogan 'Dreamer's Inspiration Mansion' invites you to start an urban journey of seclusion as you pass through the tall brass doors. Upon entering, there is a small, high-ceilinged space with a concierge waiting here. The designer has placed the poetic autumn landscape of Shenzhen's highest peak, 'Wutong Mountain', in this space. 'Ropes' are the ties of time, binding Shenzhen's past and future. Although the hotel is not a skyline hotel, the lobby is located on the 5th floor, still requiring a change of elevator to reach. The design by YABU has a deep courtyard charm, combining traditional residences with verandas, and the traditional ancient dwelling's three-in and three-out layout, offering a step-by-step view. At the front desk, 'Urban Rhyme' re-creates traditional ancient architectural elements with contemporary linear artistic techniques, leaving a memorable impression. Echoing the entrance's 'Two Yi', the 'Four Symbols' display the beauty of the four seasons through ancient ceramic techniques. At the end of the corridor, an LED screen artwork from Cao Yuxi's 'Artificial Intelligence Landscape Painting' uses light and art to enhance the sense of spatial interweaving. The revolving staircase on the side of the lobby connects to the conference hall. YABU's classic design style continues here, with countless lights shining like a kaleidoscope of dreams. The hotel has 300 guest rooms, starting from 56 square meters. YABU conveys his vision of the Conrad living concept with 'Fishermen Singing at Dusk' as inspiration, using abstract photography as a clue to present different artistic aesthetics and spaces, sketching the dreamer's inspiration for a private mansion. The bathroom space, inspired by the nautical element of ropes securing boats, makes the bathroom space particularly lively and elegant. The toiletries are the same as the IC brand, but with a different scent. The hotel has an 'Executive Lounge', where Diamond cardholders and executive room guests can enjoy afternoon tea, Happy Hour, but breakfast is not yet available. The lack of champagne is a slight disappointment. The banquet hall's 'Star of the Ocean' and 'Shenzhen's First Peak', made of thousands of lava volcanic stones, represent the city's foundation and the power to climb upwards. Overall, after its opening, it is not only Shenzhen's first CONRAD brand but also fills the gap of Hilton Group's luxury line brand in Shenzhen. The design-rich Shenzhen Conrad Hotel, which has been rumored to be CONRAD's flagship store since its opening, welcomes all dreamers to check in at the Bay Area's Inspiration Mansion.
