Every cultural relic is an interaction with time and space

Liaoning Museum, originally opened on July 7, 1949, as the Northeast Museum, is the first museum established in New China. The new museum began construction in August 2011, completed its civil engineering in June 2013, and had its first phase trial opening in May 2015. After three years of meticulous preparation, it fully opened on August 17, 2018. It is renowned both at home and abroad for its rich collection and distinctive characteristics. The total number of cultural relics in the collection reaches 112,000 pieces (sets), among which are especially notable the 'Eulogy of Cao E', 'Tang Dynasty Imitation of Wang Xizhi's Letters', Zhang Xu's 'Four Posts of Ancient Poems in Cursive Script', 'Hairpin Flower Court Lady Picture', 'Lady of Guo State Enjoying the Spring Outing', Northern Song Dynasty Huizong's 'Thousand Character Text in Cursive Script', 'Auspicious Crane Picture', and other exquisite Jin, Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasty calligraphy and paintings, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasty kesi embroidery, Hongshan culture jades, Shang and Zhou dynasty buried bronzes, Liao dynasty ceramics, historical steles, Ming and Qing dynasty woodblock prints, ancient maps, Qing dynasty Li Zuoxian's 'Collection of Ancient Coins' recording currencies from various dynasties, and other most characteristic and influential items.
