Underrated Handan｜The ancient myth of Nuwa Palace.

The Nuwa Palace, located on Zhonghuang Mountain in She County, Handan, Hebei Province, is one of the five major ancestral worship sites in the country. It is the largest Nuwa cultural relic in the country and is known as the "Ancestral Temple of China." It was first built in the Northern Qi Dynasty, from 550 to 577 AD, and now has a history of more than 1,400 years. It is the place where Nuwa "refined stones to repair the sky and kneaded clay to create humans" in mythology. It is hung on the cliff and is connected to the cliff by only 9 iron chains. The building has space for displacement and swing, and there is a shaking feeling when climbing up. It is a model of the combination of movement and stillness in architectural history. Thanks to its superb architectural design skills, Nuwa Palace has survived countless geological disasters and remains standing, testifying to the tenacity and inheritance of Chinese civilization. 👀Highlight 1 The palace fixed by iron chains: The palace is built on the mountain wall and hangs on the cliff. It is fixed to the cliff wall by only 9 iron chains, which gives the building room to swing. Therefore, it will shake from time to time after climbing up. It can be said to be an architectural miracle. 👀Highlight 2 Grottoes and Buddha statues: Xiangtangshan, a famous grotto in Hebei, is very shocking. Nuwa Palace also has two Northern Qi grottoes, one is Cangu Cave: there is a statue of Sakyamuni, which is severely damaged and has a broken face; the other is Yanguang Cave: there is a Buddha statue from the Northern Qi Dynasty in the cave; Yanguang Cave was first excavated during the Tianbao period of the Northern Qi Dynasty.
