Anchang's bridges are very unique. They come in a variety of styles, such as arch, beam, and pavilion, and are known for their ancient and elegant beauty. The town is known as "a thousand homes along the river, seventeen bridges over the rainbow." The most famous bridges are Fulou, Wan'an, and Ruyi. When a local family marries off a daughter, they must cross all three bridges. Anchang Ancient Town was one of the first historical and cultural towns in Zhejiang Province. It was first built during the Northern Song Dynasty, but was destroyed by war and rebuilt during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Its architecture is typical of the Jiangnan water town style, with its simple and elegant buildings. Its local specialties, Anchang sausage and white sugar, are famous far and wide. The water wedding ceremony is also unique. It is the hometown of Shaoxing's master. The ancient town has historical relics such as the Hangzhou-Ningbo Canal, ancient bridges, and ancient towpaths.
