The Tomb of the King of Yuezhou in Yingshan

The Tomb of the King of Yuezhou in Yingshan, which is very close to the Lanting Scenic Area, is located on the top of Yingshan Mountain in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is carved out of rock and faces east. It is a vertical pit tomb in the shape of a 'J' composed of a tomb passage and a tomb pit. The tomb pit is a rectangular vertical pit, with a length of 46 meters, a width of 14 meters, and a depth of 12.4 meters. The walls are steep and there are no steps. The Tomb of the King of Yuezhou in Yingshan is a key cultural relic protection unit in China. 'In the north there is the Qin Palace, and in the south there is Yingshan' - (One of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China in 1998) - The Tomb of the King of Yuezhou in Yingshan, which has been sleeping underground for 2,500 years, has seen the light of day again - At the junction of Limuzha Village in Lanting Town, Shaoxing County, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, and Shaoxing County Forest Farm, there is a special small mountain. It is about 300 meters long from east to west, 300 meters wide from north to south, and about 24 meters high. Because its plane is slightly square and the inside is towering like a seal, it is commonly known as 'Yingshan'. It is surrounded by ditches and rivers, which are caused by digging soil when building the earth mound. The tomb chamber is constructed of large, regularly processed square logs and is sloping on both sides. The wooden coffin is placed in the middle chamber and is made of a giant round log. The bottom of the pit is covered with charcoal, the outer layer of the wooden coffin is wrapped with 140 layers of bark, the outside of the bark is rammed with charcoal, and the inside of the tomb pit is filled with green plaster.
