Shaoxing Travelogue | An unconventional city exploration journey

🌧 I went to Shaoxing at the beginning of the year, and now I am writing this travelogue. Not because of forgetfulness, but the beauty of this city is worth savoring in my heart. 🎉 The rainy weather and cold climate give the whole city a unique Jiangnan charm. I chose to go during the Spring Festival holiday. Although it was the peak tourist season, I chose other routes to avoid the crowds of tourists, which gave me the opportunity to go to some less popular attractions. This choice added many unexpected surprises to my trip. ✨ I didn't stick to the travel guide, and chose to explore this city in a non-traditional way. This kind of free travel gave me the opportunity to discover some beauty that others might overlook. 📸 On the first day of the journey, I went straight to Cangqiao Straight Street as soon as I arrived in Shaoxing. I didn't follow the traditional route, but wandered at will. When I walked to the Yue King Temple, I was surprised to find no tourists. It was as if I had entered a paradise isolated from the world, so quiet that I could only hear the sound of raindrops falling. This kind of tranquility made me feel a different kind of beauty. 🛍️ Besides the Yue King Temple, just walk around nearby and find a coffee shop to sit in. The weather was cold and rainy at that time. When I was in a hurry to find it, I found a coffee shop called "Stay Coffee". It is located near the Eight Character Bridge. Maybe because of the holiday, I was the only customer in the shop. I chatted with the boss casually, and then I started taking pictures here and there with my phone. The environment in the shop is really good, and there is a small bridge and flowing water outside the shop. The quiet environment and unique Jiangnan scenery made me feel like I was in a poetic painting. 🥂 On the second day, my destination was the Yellow Wine Town. Compared with other ancient towns, it is smaller and more exquisite, and it exudes a strong Jiangnan characteristic everywhere. I tasted the local yellow wine and found it tasted really good, but I didn't get drunk. Besides not being a "drunkard", there are other places waiting for me to explore. 🌅 Unconsciously, it was evening. While admiring the sunset, I deeply felt the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan. Every corner here is full of surprising features. I can only sigh, it's so fascinating! 📚 Time flies so fast, it's the last day of the Shaoxing trip. I went to the Xu Wei Art Museum, which made me understand the cultural history of Shaoxing more deeply. The museum has a rich collection, displaying a dazzling array of works such as poetry, calligraphy and painting, which gave me a deeper understanding of Shaoxing's historical culture.
