| Arcades that take you back in time. "If you don't go out and see the world, you'll think this is all there is." 🤹‍♀️🤹‍♀️🤹‍♀️ What others see and photograph is ultimately their view of the world. To find out how fragrant the flowers are and how green the grass is, you have to go and see for yourself. I've been in Guangdong for 8️⃣ years, and this is my first time in Shantou. People have mixed opinions about Shantou, so I decided to go and see for myself this weekend. 📍 I'm based in Shenzhen, and since I have to work on Monday, I wanted a relaxing trip with some sightseeing and good food. So, I only visited [Xiaogongyuan, Shantou] 🕍. If you have similar needs, you can follow my itinerary. ✅ 🌈 [On the Road] 🚄 Transportation: High-speed train (depart from Shenzhen, 2 hours to Shantou) 🚌 Bus: No. 33, direct to Xiaogongyuan 🏨 Hotel: Vienna Hotel (in Xiaogongyuan, but I recommend looking for a hotel in MixC, there are more options) ♨️ Rest: Check in and take a nap for an hour ⛱️ [Start the Tour] Route: Hotel 🏨 ➡️ Chaozhou Film Celebrity Museum ➡️ Department Store ➡️ Xiaogongyuan Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion ➡️ Guoping Road Intersection ➡️ Cunxin Mansion ➡️ Tianhou Temple ➡️ Laomagong Theater ➡️ Guanyin Temple ➡️ Firefighting History Museum ➡️ Qiaopi Museum ➡️ Former Site of Qing Dynasty Post Office ➡️ Shantou Port Culture Exhibition Hall ➡️ Zhenbang Food Street 🥘 [Food] I had some snacks along the way, and some food on Zhenbang Street, but it wasn't to my taste, so I ended up on Longyan South Road. 😋 ✨ [Impressions] If you like old buildings, you'll love it here. It's a great place to take photos, with arcades everywhere and a rich history. There's also lots of food, so it's perfect for a weekend of sightseeing and eating. ⛔️ There are some obvious downsides, though. The same problem as all tourist attractions - lots of people on weekends, so you can only take photos from below. 🤣 It's a pain. Also, maybe I'm used to the clean streets of Shenzhen, but Shantou's streets are a bit messy, with some trash on the roadside. Overall, I think [Xiaogongyuan, Shantou] is worth a visit.
