Tiger Leaping Gorge in Winter

Tiger Leaping Gorge is the largest gorge on the Jinsha River (Yangtze River) and is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle, and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge. The gorge is full of reefs, and the Yangtze River is flanked by the Yulong and Haba Snow Mountains, with an altitude difference of more than 3,900 meters. The gorge is one of the deepest in the world, with the narrowest point being only about 30 meters wide. Legend has it that a tiger came down from the mountain and leaped over the gorge by stepping on a reef in the river, hence the name Tiger Leaping Gorge. The most accessible part of the gorge is the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, which has a wooden walkway and an escalator. The Tiger Leaping Stone is within reach, and the water is as clear as jade, making it difficult to imagine the hardships faced by the Red Army when they crossed the Jinsha River during the Long March.
