Guifeng Mountain is a hidden gem in Shangrao!

Today, let's talk about a hidden gem in Shangrao - Guifeng Mountain. It's a 5A scenic spot, but not many people know about it. I found it on my second trip to Jiangxi Province, driving along the G60 Hukun Expressway. Driving along the G60 Hukun Expressway, my first stop was Shangrao. This place is rich in history and culture. It used to be called Xinzhou. It has everything you could want, from cultural stories to stunning natural scenery. Wuyuan and Mount Sanqing are famous attractions, and Wangxian Valley and Mount Ling are popular online. But Guifeng Mountain, despite being a 5A scenic spot, is not well-known. Guifeng Mountain is in Yiyang County, Shangrao. Just follow the navigation to the entrance of the scenic area. Once inside, take a sightseeing bus to the foot of the mountain. The main attraction is the unique Danxia landform, with its bright red sandstone. The main rock formation looks like a giant turtle, hence the name "Guifeng" (Turtle Peak). There aren't many tourists here, making it a great place for a leisurely hike. You can walk along the main route and take a boat back. If you're quick, you can see everything in half a day. After visiting Guifeng Mountain, there are many other attractions nearby. Yiyang is located at the junction of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi provinces, making it a great base for exploring. To the west is Longhu Mountain in Yingtan, where Taoist culture and Danxia landforms blend perfectly. The hanging coffin performance is both mysterious and impressive. To the south is Mount Wuyi, known for its tea and picturesque scenery. You can take a bamboo raft to enjoy the scenery of the Nine-Bend River. The route is full of typical Danxia scenery in East China, and you'll be amazed by the views. Don't miss the local food, either. You must try the national road fish in Yiyang, which is freshly caught and cooked. The fish is tender, and the soup is rich. It's perfect with rice. The Yiyang braised pork is also delicious, with its melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor. If you're driving here, don't forget to bring clothes, sunscreen, and medicine.
