Love skyscrapers? Try Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China! Nice place to see the whole city landscape or go on a date to the cafeteria for an afternoon tea. There’s also a bookstore for bookworms but it’s really for a place to take photos only. After coming out of the tower, you can also try some bars in the high-end hotels nearby, or take a local ship back to the Bund. Because the ship is not for tourists, it’s super cheap and you also get to experience the local life. #urbanexplorer

Duoyun Books 📚 is a fairly new hotspot located in the tallest building in the city, the Shanghai Tower. With floor-to-ceiling windows, you’ll be able to browse through over a collection over 60,000 books and catch views of the Huangpu River skyline. When you get there, enter the Shanghai Tower from entrance 2 on the first floor. Show your online reservation code, and the attendant will escort you to the 52nd floor where you’ll enter the bookstore. The store itself is separated into two sections, each with a distinct design and atmosphere. With natural light coming in from the huge windows, the white section feels airy and bright, fitted with arched shelves and stacks of books. Further inside is the cave-like black section, where you’ll find art displays and a selection of gifts among the books. If you’re lucky enough to visit on a day with nice weather, be sure to try and snag a window seat – the views are pretty amazing. The bookstore has a café where one drink will set you back around 30 to 40 RMB. It tends to get pretty full on the weekends, so we recommend going during the week if you’re looking for a more peaceful, quiet bookstore experience. Location: Level 52 of the Shanghai Tower, 501 Middle Yincheng Road Hours: Mon–Sun, 10:00–21:00 Tip: Be sure to make a reservation in advance on the “世纪朵云” WeChat official page. Be prepared for weekend crowds. #shanghaistyle #shanghaichic #bookstore #book #lightthecity#urbanexplorer#hipsterbookstore
