[Shanghai] A historic classic hotel convenient for sightseeing near the Bund, Yuyuan Garden, and Nanjing Road

This convenient hotel is within walking distance of Shanghai's top tourist spots, the Bund, Yuyuan Garden, and Nanjing Road. The "Xincheng Hotel," built and opened in 1934, was renovated in 2016 by China's largest hotel group, Jinjiang International Group. The hotel's predecessor, the "Xindu Hotel," was one of the social centers where Shanghai's dignitaries gathered at the time. The interior is still retro-modern and gorgeous, in a Chinese-Western style, with a calm atmosphere reminiscent of the "Peace Hotel." In fact, it is also called "Xiao Heping (meaning mini peace hotel)." I spent my time thinking about the turbulent times in Shanghai😊 There was nothing in the refrigerator or minibar, so no deposit was required. Toothbrushes and razors were available at the counter when you checked in. Other amenities were in the room. There was a small bar and restaurant on the first floor, but they were closed when I visited. You may not want to rely on them too much.
