[Shanghai Museum] It's hard to believe it's 3,300 years old! The bronze artefacts section is a must-see!!

The Shanghai Museum is one of the three major museums in China. Located on the south side of Shanghai's People's Square, the four-story building displays over 100,000 items, divided into 11 exhibition areas including bronzeware, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, and coins. Among them, the most eye-catching are the bronzeware from about 4,000 years ago. There is almost no rust, and they are so beautiful that it is hard to believe your eyes. Normally, you would think that there would be no more left because of rust, or that even if there were any, they would have decayed away, so it was a surprise. In Japan, the phrase "4,000 years of China" is common, but if you calculate from the Xia Dynasty in the 21st century BC, which is the subject of this exhibition, it is 4,000 years old. Meanwhile, in China, the accepted theory seems to be that China has been around for 5,000 years. (I looked it up and found that there are ruins in Zhejiang Province that are 5,000 years old, so I have to go see them.) Whether it's 4,000 or 5,000 years, it's a different length of ancient history compared to Japan's 2,000 years. The "Gongfu Yilou" is said to be 3,300 years old from the Shang Dynasty, but it is incredibly beautiful. Various creatures are drawn on the body, and it is full of artistry. When you look at the English title, the character " 同" is not translated, but it is not actually 同, but a different kanji without the middle line. I still don't know how to read it, so I can't translate it into English. Other exhibits, such as pots with characters carved into them, each have their own history, and there is no end to discovering them. The bronzeware section is also wonderful, and the other exhibits are also worth seeing. I think you need about 3 hours to see everything. There is an automatic guide machine available for rental, and it costs 40 yuan for foreign languages. It's a bit of a hassle because it's a phone type, but I think it's definitely necessary to deepen your understanding. #ShanghaiTourism#Shanghai #ShanghaiMuseum #GongfuYilou #People'sSquare #Museum #Bronzeware #China #5000Years #4000Years
