Guyi Garden (古猗园) in Shanghai

Guyi Garden (古猗园) near Nanxiang (南翔古镇) in northern Shanghai makes for a very nice half-day getaway from the city center. Not nearly as famous as some of the other gardens and parks in Shanghai, it's no less picturesque. The garden boasts multiple ponds, bridges, pavilions, and rock formations. And the lack of crowds makes it even more appealing when you're looking for a bit of downtime. The admission fee when I went was 12 RMB. Check the opening hours before you go. On the day I went it closed at 16:00. The Nanxiang (南翔) metro station on Line 11 is the closest station to the garden. You can also visit the old town of Nanxiang, which is supposedly the birthplace of xiaolongbao (小笼包). #shanghai #china #garden #park #nature #####
