#AugustGoodPlaces2025 Seeing the statues and portraits of Matteo Ricci and Xu Guangqi filled me with admiration and deep emotion. They were not only important figures in the exchange between Eastern and Western civilizations, but also symbolized the potential for mutual understanding and cooperation among different cultures. Ricci studied Chinese with an open mind and disseminated Western knowledge; Xu Guangqi bravely embraced Western learning and promoted scientific progress. Their friendship and collaboration represent a precious cultural dialogue in history, and have deeply impressed upon me the value of communication and respect.
