Above the clouds, swimming into the window of sunlight—JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Tomorrow Square

Located on the high floors of Tomorrow Square, the JW Marriott pool is one of the most dramatic infinity pools in my heart. Stepping into this body of water feels like entering above the clouds. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, daylight pours in, and the city skyline of Shanghai flows like a shadow on the water’s surface. That morning, I woke up especially early just to catch the moment the first ray of sunlight hit the water. The sunlight pierced through the thin mist, weaving a nearly sacred scene of light and water. Here, it doesn’t feel like swimming, but rather dancing with the morning light. The JW pool space is calm and understated, yet it gives a clear feeling of being in paradise. Looking up from here, there is no ceiling, only the horizon.
