Shanghai Travel Review: 5 Days 4 Nights in a Vibrant City

This trip had no strict itinerary but was filled with delicious food, picturesque spots, and an atmosphere that’s easy to fall in love with. Day 1: Started at Super Brand Plaza and chose a Hong Kong-style restaurant without hesitation. The pineapple bun was amazing! Crossed the pedestrian bridge and captured the iconic view of the Oriental Pearl Tower x Lujiazui skyline. Pro tip! For a romantic riverside breeze and stunning views, take the ferry ride in the evening—it’s unbeatable. Day 2: Explored the Wukang - Anfu - Urumqi route, perfect for casual strolls and photo ops. Stopped for snacks and bought the butterfly cake from International Hotel (so good you’ll want to bring it back to Thailand). Ended the day with crab roe noodles—rich and creamy but slightly fishy. If you’re not a fan of seafood aroma, you might want to skip this. Day 3: Disney Shanghai! (Detailed review in a previous post.) Day 4: Checked in at North Bund Arena for some sunny photo sessions. It was crowded but worth it. Then indulged in small pot noodles and crispy fish skin at Fat Milan—delicious without needing extra seasoning! Continued strolling around Xintiandi and wrapped up the day with a chocolate bagel—perfect ending. Day 5: Coffee lovers shouldn’t miss Starbucks Reserve Roastery—massive and impressive. Walked from Wujiang to Zhangyuan, followed by snacks and a chill movie session. Ended the trip with dinner at Dawang Pot Stickers, a street-side eatery with extraordinary flavors! This was my first time in Shanghai, and I’m already eager to return! The city offers a perfect mix of vibrant lights, amazing food, and countless chic spots to explore.
