If you’re coming to Shanghai and don’t know where to go, you absolutely have to visit the Expo Cultural Park! No exaggeration, it completely changed my perception of city parks. It’s full of unique urban charm, and once you’re here, you won’t want to leave! As soon as you enter, you can feel its “grandiosity.” Land is precious in the city, but this park alone occupies about 2 square kilometers, creating a paradise amid the skyscrapers. Whether you’re a working professional looking to relax or a parent bringing kids, this place meets all your needs, and you’ll never get enough of it! The Twin Peaks are definitely the park’s “top” attraction and require booking a day in advance. Don’t underestimate this man-made hill—at 48 meters high, it’s quite a standout in Shanghai! A waterfall roars at the base, and the viewing platform at the top offers excellent views. You can see the Shanghai Tower in the distance and enjoy a stunning sunset that captures the entire city skyline. The greenhouse garden is like a plant kingdom and also requires advance tickets. It consists of three pavilions: Marine Sandbank, Cloud Forest, and Misty Canyon. An underwater tunnel connects Marine Sandbank and Cloud Forest, making it a perfect spot for photos that will go viral on social media. Walking through it feels like being in a tropical rainforest, with rare plants everywhere you look. If you want to visit a classical garden, no need to go all the way to Suzhou—Shen Garden inside the park will satisfy you! Shen Garden is open for night visits, and the garden under the lights at night is another kind of romantic. The large lawn next to the Music Forest is a paradise for picnic lovers.
