Explore the Ancient Longhua Temple in Shanghai

Longhua Temple is a historic Buddhist temple located in the heart of Shanghai, with a history spanning approximately 1,700 years. It is a popular destination for both locals and international visitors seeking to pay their respects. 📍Address: No. 2853 Longhua Road, Xuhui District 🚊Transportation: Take Metro Line 11 or 12 and get off at Longhua Station (龙华站). Exit through Exit 3 or 5, and the temple entrance is just a short walk away—about 100 meters from the station. It's very convenient. We stopped by to pray before heading to Nanjing Road, which is not far from the temple. 🕰️Opening Hours: 07:00 AM - 04:30 PM 💰Average Cost per Person: Entrance fee is 10 yuan per person, approximately 50 THB. 🎟️Ticket Purchase: Inform the staff at the entrance that you don’t have a ticket yet, and you can purchase one right at the temple entrance. Payment can be made via Alipay, and the queue is usually not very long. 🏖️Environment/Facilities: You can buy incense sticks and pay via scanning. There are also bracelets, necklaces, and zodiac-themed items available for purchase as souvenirs or for personal comfort. We bought two bracelets, each costing around 200 yuan or 1,000 THB. They make great keepsakes. Visitors can also toss coins into a cauldron while making wishes. The temple’s architecture is beautiful, and the area is not overly large, making it easy to explore. However, it is still quite grand. 💞Why We Recommend: If you’re visiting Shanghai and want to do more than just shopping, this temple is a great place to pray and make wishes for good fortune. The entrance fee is affordable, and the location is very convenient. If you have time, it’s worth stopping by.
