Songjiang boasts abundant tourism resources and is deeply rooted in Shanghai’s cultural heritage, making it an ideal spot for a short getaway⛱️ The Hyatt in Songjiang is very well located, right across from the well-established Wanda Plaza shopping center. Upon entering the lobby area, you’ll notice the two-story ceiling height and be immediately drawn to the mosaic feature wall behind the reception, resembling a giant blue printed fabric that echoes Songjiang’s local textile culture. On the guest room floors, the elevator lobby backdrop and corridor artwork continue the theme of one of Songjiang’s four major fabric types, the indigo-dyed cloth, which we know as blue printed fabric. The corridor lighting is dim, with only upper and lower light strips and no ceiling lights. Additionally, the room number plaques at the doorways are illuminated, with lampshades cleverly designed to resemble traditional bamboo hats, which is quite interesting🤔 This time, my friend and I chose a “Lake View Twin Room.” The room is quite spacious, with the sofa and work areas combined into one open space. The overall design is very minimalist, making good use of hidden horizontal light strips to add a touch of elegance. In the bedroom, the bed faces the floor-to-ceiling window, which overlooks Wulong Lake Park. The layout is cleverly designed: the headboard does not connect to the ceiling, maintaining an open and spacious feel while subtly dividing the space into two relatively independent areas. The gym is very square in shape, fitting many fitness machines into this rectangular space. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is a huge terrace, and ample sunlight streams in from both sides, making it feel like a sunroom. The Club Lounge is located on the 6th floor and opens from noon, offering afternoon tea and Happy Hour. Guests with Club Lounge privileges receive breakfast at the all-day dining restaurant. The indoor space is cleverly divided using sculptures and soft partitions into sofa areas, high table zones, and workspaces. There is also a large outdoor terrace. The all-day dining restaurant is on the first floor. Since it and the lobby bar are both semi-open, they are combined during breakfast to provide more seating. The walls surrounding the restaurant are designed with wooden panels inspired by fish market crates, while the beige hollow bricks used to separate spaces are adapted from traditional courtyard exterior walls. Overall, this Hyatt hotel offers excellent value for money.
