Feasibility of a Weekend Trip from Guangzhou to Shanghai Disneyland for Elementary School Students

Last Christmas, I suddenly wanted to "go back to my hometown," so on a whim, I took my first-grade child on a crazy weekend trip from Guangzhou to Shanghai Disneyland. The following itinerary and expenses are for your reference✌🏻 ⏰【48-Hour Extreme Timeline】 ⌛Saturday: 06:50 Arrive at Baiyun Airport P3 parking lot. Cross the road to T1 and find the "DragonPass" counter at Gate 16 to get a fast security check card. 08:30-10:55 ✈️Arrive at Pudong Airport 12:30 Check in to the Toy Story Hotel and use the guest benefits to buy half-day tickets. 12:30-16:00 After playing in the hotel for a while, we went to Disneytown for lunch and had a Disney limited edition Heytea. 16:00-21:29 Walked for 5.5 hours and didn't leave the last ride until 21:29! The staff said the rides would be open until the last minute. ❌Bad decision: The three of us were so busy playing that we didn't feel hungry. When we saw that the town was closing at 22:00, we mistakenly thought that we could still go to the town for dinner after leaving the park at 21:30, but the restaurants were no longer taking orders at that time. We didn't get back to the hotel until 22:30 and didn't get our takeout until 23:00. We were all starving (I wrote a guide about the hotel and takeout experience before). ⏳Sunday: 06:45 Wake up 07:35 Enter the park. Took a quick photo in front of the castle and went straight to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Even with early park entry, we still had to wait 20 minutes🤯 8:00-9:00 After coming out of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, we immediately headed to Soaring Over the Horizon. We only waited 10 minutes to get on the ride. Then we went to Zootopia: Hot Pursuit and rode it twice. ❓Some people asked if this route was a waste of time. ❗Because if you don't ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Soaring Over the Horizon early, the waiting time will always be >90 minutes. The waiting time for these two rides is accurate, and the waiting area is not as good as Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, so it's hard to just wait in line🤣. You can use the single rider lane to reduce the waiting time for Zootopia: Hot Pursuit (I wrote about it in a previous guide). 9:30-15:30 After riding the three major rides with early park entry, the itinerary was very easy. We strolled around and went wherever we wanted. We stayed in Tomorrowland, which our child liked, for a long time, and watched the afternoon parade. We left the park at about 15:30, went back to the hotel to pick up our luggage, and took a taxi to the airport. 18:20-21:05 ✈️Arrived in Guangzhou. As soon as we got home, we rushed our elementary school student to take a bath and go to bed so that they wouldn't be late for school the next day. 🧮According to incomplete statistics, we played the following rides during these two days: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Soaring Over the Horizon, Pirates of the Caribbean, Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, Peter Pan's Flight, Woody's Roundup, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Explorer Canoes once each; Stitch Encounter twice; Zootopia: Hot Pursuit three times; TRON Lightcycle Power Run four times; Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue N times. We watched the parade but didn't watch the nighttime spectacular. 💰Expenses for two adults and one child≈8500 Air tickets: 2886 for round-trip flights between Guangzhou and Shanghai Accommodation: 1568 (booked with a consumer voucher) Tickets: 822 for half-day tickets on Saturday + 1428 for full-day tickets on Sunday (three CNY 100 food vouchers were given) = 2250 Other: Airport parking lot fees, taxi fees, food, and other miscellaneous items≈800 ⭐In summary, it is feasible to travel from Guangzhou to Shanghai Disneyland on the weekend.
