I finally found this super cool hotel in Shanghai!

🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: Both were great, nothing to complain about. Hope they keep it up. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: Clever design, but with some drawbacks The room layout is generally reasonable, but one design element is inconvenient. The yellow curtain is purely decorative and can't be drawn. Around 5 a.m., the sunlight streams in unimpeded, causing an early "natural awakening." While this might be a unique wake-up call, the experience isn't ideal. If the curtain were functional, the room's comfort level would be greatly improved. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: Some facilities need improvement The amenities and facilities have both strengths and weaknesses. The room's decor blends European elements, with the baby blue carpet and wallpaper creating a fresh and elegant feel. The hardware is also of good quality. However, the tea-making facilities are lacking. Initially, I couldn't find any tea bags or suitable teacups in the room, so I had to rely on butler service for tea. There was no tea menu in the room either, making the process cumbersome. Fortunately, during my second check-in, I discovered that tea bags were provided, albeit hidden away. They could be replenished with a phone call, and the turndown service also provided them. The tea bags were a decent quality T9 brand. Additionally, some champagnes on the executive lounge's drinks menu were perpetually out of stock, limiting the choices and impacting the beverage experience. 💗Other tips: Service and dining were a pleasant surprise - Excellent service: The St. Regis butler service lived up to its reputation. Evelyne and manager Freddy at the Astor Lounge were incredibly attentive, arranging a champagne sabering ceremony in the executive lounge and providing exceptional care throughout. Terry, the butler who transferred from The St. Regis Zhuhai, also performed admirably, promptly delivering black tea and pastries and thoughtfully preparing a bubble bath. The concierge was warm and courteous, with Wilson handling check-in efficiently and Nadia escorting guests to the elevator with attentive service. The bar staff enthusiastically recommended The St. Regis Qingdao's bar, adding to the overall pleasant experience. - Dining experience: The bartenders at The St. Regis bar were outstanding. The signature "Shanghai Mary" has been refined to suit local tastes and is worth trying. The hors d’oeuvres in the executive lounge are among the best in Shanghai. À la carte hot dishes like the Wagyu beef tenderloin and grilled cod were tender and delicious. However, the breakfast was disappointing and unappetizing. - Facilities: The indoor pool and fitness center on the first floor resemble an art gallery, filled with paintings and sculptures. Working out or swimming here offers a unique experience. The fitness center is spacious, with ample distance between equipment, making it comfortable to use. However, I left my laptop charger behind upon check-out, and the hotel didn't inform me. I only found out it was still at the hotel after contacting the butler two days later. I hope they can improve on these service details. My stay at The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan included satisfying service and dining experiences, but also some shortcomings in room cleanliness, facility completeness, and service details. I hope the hotel continues to improve and provide guests with an even better check-in experience.
