It was built in 1403 during the reign of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty and is located near Yuyuan Garden in Huangpu District, making it a great place to visit along with Yuyuan Garden. With a history of over 600 years, this large architectural complex covers an area of 2,000 square meters and was restored in 2006. After sunset, the alleys here get a bit crowded with people, but the beautiful tiles glowing under the dazzling red lights will have you looking up the whole time you walk, so your neck might get tired... haha.
