Behind the red moon, there are waves, a world, and a wall.

African artist El Anajzu, who won the Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale, used bottle caps and metal fragments to create the largest installation art since the opening of the Pudong Art Museum - After the Red Moon. Presented in three acts: The Wave, The World, and The Wall, the artwork delves into the complex relationships and geographical ties that bind people together. As people enter the lobby of the Pudong Art Museum, they will see the first and second acts of this installation art, Waves and the World. The First Wave draws on the shape of a sail and is redesigned specifically for the specific site of the Pudong Art Museum. It echoes the Huangpu River where Pudong Art Museum is located, but also corresponds to the source of the materials used in this artwork - Ghana in Africa. There is a yellow sail on one side of this "wave". If you go to the second floor, you can see a huge red moon printed on the other side. This reminds people of the 18th century when people had no nautical charts or compasses and could only rely on the position of the moon to guide their direction at night. In the second act, “The World”, when people look up at it from the first floor, it is just a bunch of non-intersecting and non-uniformly shaped fragments hanging in the air. But when you move your feet to the viewing area on the second floor, you will find that these fragments overlap and form the earth. Just like human beings today, no matter how many differences we have, we are still a whole. Act III: The Wall A giant curtain, more than 30 meters high, hangs down from the fourth floor of Pu Mei to the ground. Its black side reminds me of a huge fortress or huge black waves on the sea in a storm. The black metallic luster is mysterious and oppressive. But when I turned to the other side, the colors became lively and bright, as if I saw hope after the darkness. After watching the red moon of Anazu, I walked from the first floor lobby to B1, and then from the first floor to the fourth floor, watching "The Wall" floor by floor. It seemed that I had watched the moon rise and set, the stars move, and the ever-changing universe.
