2024 Shanghai University Chrysanthemum Culture Festival

"Only the chrysanthemums by the eastern fence can withstand the cold, their golden petals bloom in the morning, and the air is even fresher." The 22nd Shanghai University Chrysanthemum Culture Festival will be held at the Baoshan Campus. Since its debut in 2003, the Shanghai University Chrysanthemum Culture Festival has been successfully held for 21 sessions. In 2008, it was rated as an "Outstanding Campus Culture Construction Project of Shanghai Universities" by the Shanghai Municipal Education and Health Work Party Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. In 2009, it was rated as a "Shanghai University Campus Culture Construction Brand." During this Chrysanthemum Culture Festival, Shanghai University will launch the "Meet at Shanghai University, Tour and Appreciate Chrysanthemums" event. During the festival, at 9:00, 10:00, 14:00, and 15:00 every Saturday and Sunday, there will be a "Reading Shanghai University Garden" guide to explain the beauty of the chrysanthemum scenery on campus, starting from the "Autumn Rhyme" scenic spot (South Gate Square). The "Chrysanthemums by the Eastern Fence" is based on the theme of "picking chrysanthemums by the eastern fence," with bamboo fences and a courtyard full of chrysanthemums and "bee" decorations, creating a unique scene of "the west wind blows through the courtyard, the cold petals and fragrant scent attract bees." The bamboo wall is inscribed with chrysanthemum knowledge and poems, creating a strong chrysanthemum cultural atmosphere. The main body of the "Dragon Soaring Across the Seas" scenic spot is outlined with yellow chrysanthemums and red and green grass in the shape of a dragon. The majestic dragon head is imposing, with bright eyes. The "soaring dragon" symbolizes the spirit of diligence, courage, pioneering, and independence, which is in line with the university motto of "Self-improvement, Benefiting the World."
