Baoguo Temple.

Baoguo Temple was originally a Guandi Temple built in the Ming dynasty, also known as Wusheng Temple, and commonly known as Guanwang Temple. It was built in the 13th year of the Chongzhen period of the Ming dynasty (1640). It was named "Guanwang Temple" because it was dedicated to Guan Yu. There is an ancient ginkgo tree in the temple, which is more than 1,050 years old. It is the oldest and largest thousand-year-old ginkgo tree in Shanghai. Since 1985, Guanwang Temple has been renovated, and the ancient architectural style of the Ming dynasty has been restored. It has become a place for Buddhists to hold Buddhist activities, and the incense has become more and more prosperous. In 1989, Master Zhenchan, then president of the Shanghai Buddhist Association and abbot of the Jade Buddha Temple in Shanghai, repaired and expanded Guanwang Temple, and changed it to a branch of the Jade Buddha Temple in Shanghai. The name "Baoguo Temple" was given to the temple, meaning that Buddhists should work together to serve the motherland.
